“About Sachtoberfest”: Sachtoberfest is an Oktoberfest Style Event brought to you by Backyard on 5th!
This year’s Sachtoberfest is on Friday, October 19 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Sachse’s own Backyard on 5th!
At this inaugural event, attendees will experience German music (get ready to get your chicken dance on), phenomenal German style cuisine delivered by many of our trusted food trucks along with new vendors, local craft Oktoberfest beers, authentic German beers and wines, accompanied by plenty of interactive events, like a stein holding contest, and even a Weiner Dog race”!
Bring the whole family out to enjoy plenty of family friendly games and events.

Nosh Box Eatery: Octoberfest Fancy Grilled Cheese with Crumbled sausage, caramelized onions, roasted sweet peppers with provolone and housemade beer cheese sauce on fresh baked pretzel bread
Sir Franks Truck: Beer soaked bratwurst with sauerkraut on a fresh baked bun (pretzel buns available in limited quantity)
Yummy Pizza: Flammkuchen (German Pizza)
Jacks Chowhound: Beer cooked Kubys Brats served with Sauerkraut. German Potato Salad. German Spaetzle Dumplings with slices of sausage.
Chilito Pikin: Tacos! It’s October, but it’s still Texas, y’all!
Pokey O’s: Cookie’s and Ice Cream. Cookie and Ice Cream may not have German roots, but we are sure this addition will will make your October all the sweeter!

Strong golden hue. Hofbräu Oktoberfest beer is a full-bodied, bottom-fermented specialty beer. Its taste is supple-soft, palatable and with a slightly sweet finish. With its fine hoppy aroma, it’s perfect alongside a classic Oktoberfest roasted chicken.
MALTY. ROASTY. SWEET. EARTHY. LIGHT-BODIED.
Dark brown hue. Mild aromas evoking roasted, nutty malt character and earthy hops. Clean on the palate with notes of roast, nut, touches of dark bread, and mild hops. Finishes with a touch of bitterness. A classic German beer!
Einbecker Ur-Bock Dunkel
6. 5% abv
MALTY. TOASTY. CARAMEL. MEDIUM-BODIED.
Dark amber in color, this Bock smells of caramel/toffee, raisins and molasses. The aromas carry over to the taste, with a slight hop bitterness for some balance. This is a full-bodied Bock that is sweet on the palate.
Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier
FRUITY. WHEAT. BANANA. CLOVE. MEDIUM-BODIED.
This is a classic golden-orange colored wheat beer with soft banana and spice notes on the nose which pick up a citrus note on the palate. It is light in body with a refreshing finish.
CRISP. GRAINY. FLORAL. LIGHT-BODIED.
Pours a crystal clear golden color with a frothy white head that settles nicely. Dry malts and bakery bread aromas on the nose. Hints of honey. Malty flavors with doughy bread. Finishes crisp.

6:30pm – STV Almrausch Dancers: Performing authentic German Schuhplattlers (shoe-slapping dances), intricate Ländlers (figure dances), and more!
7:00pm – Stein Holding Competition and Best German Themed Costume Contest (time to break out those lederhosen)
8:00pm – Brave Combo: America’s Premier Dance band and a rollicking, rocking, rhythmic global journey!

Additional parking will be available at Sachse City Hall, 3815-B Sachse Road, Sachse, TX.
A free shuttle will run from the Sachse Rd. side of the Senior Center every 15 minutes until 10 pm.
